Jumla to Dolpo is perhaps the best way to get a taste of remote Nepali country life. Arranged in the seasons when the air is clear, the mountains are lovely, and the dry plains heart touching, this trek climbs up to villages, which are possibly the highest natural settlements of man. Mountains and monasteries are found in unlikely places, and the region still has followers of the pre-Buddhist Bonpo religion.

This region was opened up in 1989 to organized trekking groups and to individual trekkers in 1990. There are Tibetan style inner Dolpo villages in Tarap, but most of the southern part of Dolpo is a region of Hindu influence.

The trek begins from Jumla, taking the trail route via Garankot, Bolanga Pass and assent to Bottom Baga La (5180m), which is highest point of the trek. We descend through Ringmo, Chepka down to Juphal, where we catch the flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
