Mt. Everest South Col Expedition Normal Route
Mt. Everest, meaning Sagarmatha in the Nepali language, is the mother of the universe. It is no doubt the highest mountain in the world. The newly discovered elevation of Mt. Everest is Sir Edmond Hillary and Mr. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa were the first to scale the peak who reached the summit in 1953 and ever since the first ascent many individuals have sought to be the firsts at various other accomplishments on Everest, including many alternative routes on both the north and south sides. It has always been the magnet to mountaineers from teens to sixties. The best time to climb the mountain is Mar - May.
Itinerary In Detail
- Days 1 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
- Days 2-4 Administrative formalities and preparation.
- Days 5 Fly Kathmandu -Lukla (2827m) and trek to Phakding(2850m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 6 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3450m). Overnight camp.
- Days 7-8 Lay over day at Khumjung (3790m) for acclimatization.
- Days 9 Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3868m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 10 Trek to Pheriche(4280m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 11 Trek to Lobuche (4940m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 12-13 Trek to Everest BC (5300m) and install camps. Puja ceremony will be conducted by a local monk and prayers will be chanted for a safety and success.
- Days 13-54 Climbing Period
- Days 55 Trek from BC to Pheriche (4280m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 56 Trek to Khumjung (3790m). Overnight in camp.
- Days 57 Trek to Phakding. Overnight in camp.
- Days 58 Trek to Lukla. Overnight in camp.
- Days 59 Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
- Days 60 Reserve day.
- Days 61 Reserve day.
- Days 62 Return to respective destination
